We were advised this week that Nutrience have decided to delete their Holistic superpremium range of products in Australia for dogs & cats. Due to problems of supply we’ve experienced over the last month with the entire Nutrience range we were unable to obtain stock of any of the Holistic range.

Nutrience have suggested that customers using Nutrience Holistic should try Nutrience Supreme as an alternative. Nutrience Holistic contains duck meal while Nutrience Supreme contains chicken meal, both high quality proteins. While duck is considered more hypoallergenic than chicken, both formulas are reduced allergen diets with no wheat, beef or dairy content. Another major difference is that Holistic contains no corn but Supreme does. Holistic has fruits and vegetables, brown rice, oats and barley. Supreme only has corn, rice and herbs; less carbohydrate but is higher in protein because of a higher meat content.

Pets Pantry Customer Recommendation

For Nutrience Holistic customers our recommendation is to give the Supreme a go. We suggest purchasing a small bag to start with. Ideally mix it in with Nutrience Holistic over say a 3 to 5 day period, gradually increasing the ratio of Supreme to Holistic. While we normally don’t sell Nutrience Supreme in small bags we have introduced the smaller pack sizes in Dog & Cat on the www.PetsPantry.com website to allow you to do this.

If you find that your dog or cat is not doing well on Supreme or you want to stay with a duck based diet then a viable alternative is Eagle Pack’s Holistic Select Duck & Oatmeal.
